Team Organization

We welcome ALL levels of riding abilities on our team.  All level riders perform the Team Introduction segment of all performances.  This is done at a walk or slow trot.

We welcome new riders who

can take and follow instructions from a coach, Drill Master, or Squad Leader

have a positive attitude

want to have a GREAT TIME  and FUN, and

have their own horses and transportation.

Western or English riding style is gladly received.  We welcome all!

For anyone seeking membership with the ***AMERICAN DREAMS*** Mounted Drill Team & Show Squad, you may contact our Drillmaster/Captain to go over the rules of our team and answer any questions that you may have. One thing we require at ALL times is that a rider mounted on their horse must be wearing an approved Equestrian Helmet whether at practice or a performance. A tryout will be scheduled if you are interested.  When a rider and horse are coming for a tryout, you MUST provide a current negative Coggins to the Drillmaster before unloading your horse from the trailer. Members of the team are also required, at their cost, to maintain a notarized and up to date copy of their horse’s Coggins that will be kept on file with the team.

About our Drill Team horses:
A good Drill Team horse has many abilities: looks, style, and must be in good overall health. They must have a good disposition, and at least have a “forward” gear.

Our *** Drill Team *** is comprised of beginner horses and riders to advanced riders and seasoned horses.

Our *** Show Squad *** is comprised of advanced riders and seasoned horses that perform complex patterns at a faster pace and also use props such as flags, imitation lances, swords, fireworks and more.

*** TOP HANDS GROUND CREW ***
They are our "behind the scenes" members that are a VERY IMPORTANT part of our drill team.  They take on the important jobs of Sound Manager, Video Technician, Horse and People Transporter, Safety Spotter, Traffic Director, ... and quite a few other titles.
